Sharing my musical knowledge, passion, experience and ideas is a core part of who I am and what I do. I am very proud of my students’ many accomplishments and diligently strive to individually help each one reach their full musical potential.

Since 1986 I have been teaching saxophone and since 1990 I have been providing saxophone and composition lessons, working with ensembles, and teaching a wide variety of music courses at Universities, Colleges and Conservatories. I hold a Doctorate in Saxophone Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa and a Masters degree in Jazz Studies from the New England Conservatory of Music. Currently, I teach saxophone and jazz courses at the University of Southern Maine and music appreciation courses at Central Maine Community College (for more info see Biography).

Additionally, and just as rewarding for me, I maintain a vibrant saxophone and composition studio out of my home in Brunswick, Maine. I am honored that students travel regularly to Brunswick from as far away as New Hampshire, Scarborough, Bethel, Waterville, Cape Elizabeth and Blue Hill to study with me.

Saxophone, Improvisation (all instruments) and Composition as well as beginning Piano and Flute students of any age (or locale) are always gladly welcome! Please e-mail TimODellMusic@gmail.com or call (207) 721-0649.

Band Directors, I have also taught many clinics and offer the following:
Coaching for big band, jazz combo, sax section (concert or jazz) or saxophone quartet
Improvisation work – group or individual (any instrument or voice)
Composition/arranging workshop or private lessons
All-State preparation – classical and jazz saxophone
College audition and scholarship preparation
Performing for your students – classical and/or jazz - either solo or with one of my professional groups
